NSNP Streams

Nova Scotia Express Entry

Nova Scotia invites candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet specific criteria. Candidates must have a genuine connection to Nova Scotia (work experience, education, family) or be in a priority occupation. Requires CLB 7+.

Skilled Worker Stream

For workers with a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation. Must have at least 1 year of work experience in the offered occupation and meet language requirements (CLB 5+).

Labour Market Priorities

Province-led recruitment targeting specific occupations in healthcare, skilled trades, and ocean technology. Selection criteria and occupations change based on current Labour Market priorities. Check NSNP website for active categories.

Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry

For workers currently employed in Nova Scotia in a permanent, full-time position in an eligible NOC. Must have been working in NS for at least 6 months and have a full-time permanent job offer. CLB 5 required.

International Graduate Entrepreneur

For graduates of Nova Scotia universities or colleges who want to start a business in the province. Must have graduated within 2 years, have a viable business plan, and invest a minimum amount depending on the type of business.

Physician Stream

Nova Scotia has a critical shortage of physicians. This stream provides a direct pathway for internationally trained physicians to obtain provincial nomination while completing their licensing requirements in Nova Scotia.
